bat, cat, map, rat, van (short a); bed (short e); pig (short i); dog, box (short o); bug, bus, cup, mug, nut, sun (short u). These are the CVC words Trace Press has an outline picture for, so short e and short i have one word each so far.
The picture sits on the left, so a child names it out loud first. The three boxes are one per sound, the way the word is sounded out: /c/ /a/ /t/. The writing lines are the same four as on every Trace Press sheet, a solid top line, a dashed midline, a solid baseline and a dotted line for tails, with the word in dotted print letters.
Count and trace 1–10 with ten frames, sight word flash cards and name tracing for a whole class are on the kindergarten worksheets page.
